Hi Four Corners Unit Members!
Halfway through summer now and here’s an update from your favourite Airstream club in the south west.
We’ve got our membership update, a rally report by Chuck Hanson from the Region 11 Rally, the upcoming rallies report, and a quick note about the International Rally that’s coming up fast.
I’ve also fleshed out the first six months of 2026 rally dates so you can start marking up your calendars.
We welcome two new affiliate members to the Four Corners Unit. We look forward to having you join us at an upcoming 4CU Rally!

The Rally officially kicked off on Wednesday July 23 at the Sun Outdoors RV Resort just outside of Granby. The large resort had just about every amenity one could imagine – pool, fitness centre and sports courts, bars and restaurants and a general store. Bicycles were enormously useful for navigating the huge site.
A few Airstreamers arrived days early to tour the area prior to the rally. We met at John Holly’s (Region 11 President) rig for happy hours and morning coffee and helped prepare the welcome bags.
On Wednesday afternoon volunteers manned the check-in booth before heading to the Community Center / Summit Bar and Grill for a 5 pm kickoff event. Welcome remarks by John were followed by time to meet new and old friends and a Region 11 cornhole competition. The 4CU fielded two teams: Andrea Hanson and Robin Tomaszewski: losing narrowly in round one, and Chuck Hanson and Jim Mizera: bringing the second-place trophy home!
Thursday was a full day of seminars:
Vinnie Lamica – Front end separation and his relationship with Airstream
Luke Burlander – Airstream Maintenance and repairs
Ian Hasund – Starlink and Airstream electrical systems
Friday morning included a Q and A session with the presenters, vendor product review and raffle of Airstream items followed by a delicious taco buffet lunch. That afternoon Vinnie and Luke helped members diagnose and repair camper issues. The 4CU members met for a happy hour at the Hanson’s rig prior to the evening’s entertainment: dancing to live music and the results of the charity auction and raffle.
The local food bank was the recipient of donations from the rally including canned food, proceeds from unit donated gift baskets and raffle of a full ceramic coating donated by Vinnie. The 4CU provided the most popular basket, earning $220 for charity!
Saturday was open for members to enjoy Rocky Mountain National Park and explore the area. Several 4CU members met at the Mizera’s rig for happy hour that evening before packing up for (early) Sunday departures. A great time was had by all!
With the International Rally coming up soon, some of our members are about to hit the road for the extended trip. If you haven’t already, please let Four Corners Unit president Barbara Engelmann know that you’re planning to attend.
Our Region 11 folks are organising a Region 11 Potluck Happy Hour. Please bring your own snack to share and beverage of choice. This will be an easy way to gather and get to know one another.
The targeted date and time is Tuesday, 26 August at 5:00 PM, before the scheduled 7:30 PM Casino Party. The location is TBD, but will be at a Region 11 member’s campsite.
Have you got your 4CU gear already? Taken any pictures? Share with your editor and we’ll feature a couple photos next month!
