The following slate of nominees have been presented to the board for furtherance to the membership of the Four Corners Unit for approval as the executive board of the club. Voting commences on 9 October to be completed by 18 October. Voting is open only to full members of the 4CU, affiliate members do not have voting rights in the unit.
The Office of President – Barbara Engelmann — to be elected for a 1-year term, has Board voting power, and may serve no longer than 2 consecutive terms.
- Barbara has agreed to run as President for a second 1-year term.
The Office of 1st VP – Bruce Stevenson — elected for a 1-year term, has Board voting power, and may serve no longer than 2 consecutive terms.
- Bruce is currently serving as the 2nd Vice President of the 4CU. He and his wife Catherine have been members since 2016, soon after they purchased their first Airstream in 2015. Bruce is a retired pipeline company attorney and worked in Alberta, California and Texas until retiring to Tucson. Bruce serves as an active volunteer on several committees with his church and also spends his time cycling (road and mountain bike) on the trails that surround Tucson. He and his wife have travelled extensively with their Airstream and have camped in almost all of the lower 48 states and many of the Canadian provinces. They own a 28’ Flying Cloud that they have modified to increase the solar capacity to facilitate comfortable boondocking.
The Office of 2nd VP – Michael Houlden — elected for a 1-year term, has Board voting power, and may serve no longer than 2 consecutive terms.
- In 2012 Michael and his wife Jennifer retired from their professional careers, as Mining Engineer and Registered Nurse, respectively, and moved to Southern Ontario from South Australia. After a few cold and wet winters in Ontario they purchased their first Airstream in 2017, a 2014 27-foot Eddie Bauer. They attended the Picacho Peak New Year’s rally that year during their first winter trip to Arizona, decided that the 4CU was their Airstream home and joined the unit at the end of the rally. Michael spends his summers training and leading coaches in delivering a youth mountain bike skills program and instructs and coaches mountain bikers of all skills and ages. In the fall of 2023 Michael began again competing in enduro style mountain bike races and they bought a second Airstream, a BaseCamp 16 to make attending these weekend events a more relaxed and comfortable experience. In 2022, Michael volunteered to lead the transition of the club’s rally registration process to Jotform and digital payments, as well as establishing a news website to enable easy distribution of news and rally announcements.
The Office of Treasurer – Richard Girard— elected for a 1-year term, has Board voting power. Though this position has no limit to consecutive terms the office must be confirmed via election each year.

The Office of Secretary – Jeff Engelmann — elected for a 1-year term, has Board voting power. Though this position has no limit to consecutive terms the office must be confirmed via election each year.

The Office of Trustee — Kathy Fahey and Chuck Hanson – A Trustee is elected for a 2-year staggered term. Trustees serve for no more than one 2-year term consecutively, has Board voting power. The continuing Trustee is Lee Gatten and does not appear on the ballot.
- Kathy is a semi-retired professor of speech-language pathology. She and her husband, Dan live in Tubac, AZ with their two corgis, Whiskey and Rosie. Kathy has non-profit volunteer experience spanning over 40 years and has served in numerous professional and organization leadership roles. Kathy and Dan were introduced to Airstreaming by Kathy’s brother and sister-in-law in Colorado. They enjoy a 25’ Flying Cloud. Her hobbies include reading, golf, yoga, traveling, entertaining, and visiting “kids” and grandkids.
- Chuck is not currently serving on any 4CU committees or on the board, but with more time on his hands, would like to get involved. Chuck is a recently retired structural engineer and was a Principal with the regional architecture and engineering firm of Dekker (formerly Dekker, Perich, Sabatini) for over 20 years. Chuck, originally from Toledo, Ohio, has also lived in Cincinnati, Chicago, San Francisco, Oakland, and now hails from Albuquerque and Tucson. Chuck has served on several volunteer organizations over the years, including the Structural Engineer’s Association of New Mexico, United Blood Services, and Architectural Review Committees in several of their neighborhoods. Chuck’s family was avid campers, so he saw much of the Eastern US that way. Chuck and his wife Andrea joined 4CU shortly after purchasing their first Airstream, a Sport 22 Bambi, just before Covid came on the scene. Being able to travel and vacation in the outdoors during the shutdown was a sanity-saver for them. They have Bonnie Bobman and Sergio Quiros to thank for encouraging them to start attending 4CU rallies when they all coincidentally met at Picacho in December of 2020. Chuck and Andrea have one married son who lives with his wife, 2-year-old son, and their Goldendoodle in Tucson. The Hanson’s are enjoying grandparenting and now share their time between Albuquerque in the summer and Tucson in the winter. Staying away from the cold weather means Chuck doesn’t have to worry about winterizing their current rig, a 2021 Flying Cloud 25. Chuck’s hobbies and activities, outside of Airstreaming, include travel, playing pickleball, bicycling, hiking, following Formula 1, keeping the family espresso machine working, and autocross racing with the Sports Car Club of America.
