Good morning Four Corners Unit members!

Final month of 2025 and what a heck of a year it’s been. I can’t hardly imagine what 2026 will bring us! But for now, I’d like to give a huge thanks to Barbara Engelmann for the past two years of well organized leadership as our president! Barbara’s outgoing message last month detailed all we’ve accomplished just in the past year, so I won’t re-hash that here rather, just THANK YOU! You dug in and put countless hours of your time to guiding us forward and keeping us focused and organized!

Now, on to welcoming our new members, hearing about the wonderful Tucson Unplugged Rally and an update on 2026 rallies.

Rally Round-Up

Tucson Unplugged Rally

Tucson Unplugged Catalina State Park was another success. The weather was gorgeous, not as cold as previous years, and the majority of the rain held out until departure day!

We had 43 attendees in 22 rigs. About half of the attendees arrived on Wednesday, the pre-rally day, which we will repeat next year. We had a number of new faces in this year’s group.

As usual, this was a low key and relaxing rally with a lot of mingling and getting caught up on the state of everyone’s rigs. Doug and Diane Montemayor had quite an eye catching new addition to their stable – a 1970 25 foot Tradewind which was totally redone by Jackson Center in 2011, re-skinned inside and out. So many people were coming by trying to figure out which model it was.

On Friday we had around 10 people participate in the bike ride on the Loop, which is always a lot of fun. During dinner we were joined by members of the Central Coast California Airstream Club, who were on a caravan and happened to be staying at the park on their journey. After dinner we had an enjoyable evening around the fire. Mark Barker broke out his guitar, and was joined by Bryan McCann of the CCCAC on clarinet, and Mark, the camp host, on mandolin.

On Saturday morning a number of people went to the local farmers market at Steam Pump Ranch. Saturday afternoon there was a good turnout at the ramada to discuss rallies, rally locations, and procedures and requirements to host a rally. Other topics included various Airstream repairs and favourite camping locations. The rain that evening held off just long enough for us to get the coals lit and stopped in time for people to use the grills.

We’ve already booked next year for 11-15 November 2026, so mark your calendars.

Looking ahead to future rallies

With just the banger rally of the year, New Years at Picacho the 2025 rally year is just about to close. And what a year it’s been! We even managed to pull off multiple rallies in a single month. We had rallies in all of our four corners too, and even one in Texas!

There are still openings for the New Years rally at Picacho!

McDowell hosting – success! I want to say a huge thank you to all of the wonderful folks who reached out to offer to host this rally, when I sent out the appeal a few weeks ago. This is such a great rally spot, and I’m overjoyed that we have it fully hosted! Jot and Linda Hollenbeck will be our hosts with Debbie Whitmire lending an assist as co-host.

Look for announcement information for McDowell near the end of the month with registration opening right after Picacho wraps up!

2026 Rallies!

With 2026 just a few weeks away, our Rally Committee is laser focused on the finishing touches of the calendar and the host assignments. We still have some “open” months, so if you’ve got an idea please let the Rally Committee know!

Please, consider hosting one of these rallies:

However easy you think rally hosting might be, it’s way easier than that! And we’ve a fabulous rally committee here to help YOU!

Each rally has a committee member assigned to assist the hosts. We have easy spreadsheets to prompt you to consider various expenses and activities, build out your budget and calculate the rally fees. Hosts and co-hosts also receive subsidized rally fees and 4CU swag!

Thank you to those who have stepped up to host one of the rallies listed below.
