Hi Four Corners Unit Members!
Good morning! We’re properly into fall now, and along with the shortening days and early dark (boo!), it’s time to start thinking about fall and winter camping and travel plans. So with that, here’s an update from your favorite Airstream club in Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Utah, otherwise known as the Four Corners region!
We’ve got our membership update, a call-out for our upcoming board of directors elections, and a brief Moab rally report.
If you haven’t yet marked up your 2026 calendar, dig your teeth into the upcoming rallies report. We are still looking for volunteers to host a few of these rallies, so, you know, give it some thought and find out what a great group of people are on the Rally Support Committee!
We’re excited to welcome the following new members and affiliates to the 4CU. Be sure to introduce yourselves to them when you see them at a rally soon!
John Williams and Sandra Cotten, BRN 6859
Barbara and Adam Murano, BRN 5056
Memphis Barbree and Beth Saltzman, BRN 20050
Michael and Brooke Puleo, BRN# 5909
Tessa Davidson and Jeff Lopez, New Mexico Unit, BRN 6124

A report from the Four Corners Unit (4CU) Nominating Committee
The Nominating Committee comprised of Scott Verhines, Andrea Hanson and Barbara Engelmann presented the slate of 2026 board nominees to the 2025 4CU Executive Board. The Executive Board approved the slate and per the bylaws of the 4CU, elections will take place in 15 days via an email ballot that will be sent to all full members of the 4CU.
Below is the slate for 2026.
The Office of President – Bruce Stevenson
Bruce is currently serving as the 1st Vice President of the 4CU. He and his wife Catherine have been members since 2016, soon after they purchased their first Airstream in 2015. Bruce is a retired pipeline company attorney and worked in Alberta, California and Texas until retiring to Tucson. Bruce serves as an active volunteer on several committees with his church and spends his time cycling (road and mountain bike) on the trails that surround Tucson. He and his wife travel extensively with their Airstream and have camped in almost all of the lower 48 states and many of the Canadian provinces. They own a 28’ Flying Cloud that they modified to increase the solar capacity to facilitate comfortable boondocking.
The Office of 1st VP – Andrea Hanson. – elected for a 1-year term, has Board voting power, and may serve no longer that 2 consecutive terms
Andrea spent her career as an architect and commercial interior designer. The profession took her from Albuquerque to New Orleans (Tulane University for undergrad and graduate degrees and licensing), to San Francisco, and finally back to the desert Southwest where she and husband Chuck raised their only son and helped to grow the multidisciplinary design firm Dekker/Perich/Sabatini, from 15 to over 200 employees. Andrea undertook a recent career change in January 2025 and is now living her best life as a non-practicing design professional and semi-professional explorer.
Their son, his wife, and 3-year-old grandson live in Tucson. The Hansons enjoy grandparenting and now share their time between Albuquerque and Tucson. Andrea has served on several professional and volunteer organizations over the years, including the Albuquerque Arts Alliance, Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation, Roadrunner Food Bank, and Architectural Review Committee in our Tucson neighborhood. Her hobbies include travel (with and without the Airstream), playing pickleball and mahjong, hiking, cooking, making art, gardening, and line dancing.
Andrea and Chuck joined 4CU shortly after purchasing their first Airstream, a Sport 22 Bambi, in April 2020 and took over 20 camping trips during Covid. Bonnie Bobman and Sergio Quiros were instrumental in getting the Hanson’s to “Rally” with the 4CU. In November 2023 Hanson’s moved up to a 25’ Flying Cloud RBT and since retirement in January 2025 have been attending rallies across the region and beyond. They are looking forward to their first Airstream Caravan next spring in Florida.
The Office of 2nd VP: Michael Houlden — elected for a 1-year term, has Board voting privileges, and may serve no longer than 2 consecutive terms.
The Office of Treasurer: Jim Mizera — elected for a 1-year term, has Board voting privileges. Though this position has no limit to consecutive terms the office must be confirmed via election each year.
The Office of Secretary: Jeff Engelmann — elected for a 1-year term, has Board voting privileges. Though this position has no limit to consecutive terms the office must be confirmed via election each year.
The Office of Trustee: Kathy Lorec — elected for a 2-year staggered term. Trustees serve for no more than one 2-year term consecutively, have Board voting privileges.
Kathy Lorec: After 35 years of working in the Alaska shipping industry rising to vice president, she retired and became a snowbird. With her husband, John, they now split their time between Tubac, AZ and Anchorage.
They purchased our 2016 25’ Flying Cloud in 2021, and became a part of the amazing Airstream community, where they’ve met so many wonderful people who share their sense of adventure and love of the outdoors.
Kathy loves to travel, golf, garden, read, and camp.
She served on several nonprofit boards, including as president of the Anchorage chapter of Soroptimist International, her children’s preschool co-op board, and their homeowner’s association.
She believes in giving back and would be honoured to serve on the board of 4CU.
Continuing Trustees — Kathy Fahey and Chuck Hanson; they do not appear on the ballot.
The Office of Immediate Past President — is a non-elected position and does not appear on the Ballot. The IPP has Board voting privileges and remains in service for the duration of his/her successor. Barbara Engelmann will serve as Immediate Past President upon confirmation of the new board.
Committee Chairs are appointed, non-voting, positions; therefore, they do not appear on the ballot.
