4CU October Update
Good morning 4CU!
October’s update is like a proper baked potato – delicious, filling and loaded with toppings! We’ve got a message from our president, Barbara, membership update from Louis, Rally Update and Appreciation Program announcement from the rally committee, Albuquerque meet and greet report from Cathy, an update on the Constitution and Bylaws revisions and a board election announcement from the board.
Getting Involved by Barbara Engelmann
In the August Blue Beret there is an article written by International Membership Chair, Barb Derian, that I would encourage you to take the time to read. She writes about our “emotional bank account” and how we as members of WBCCI, can make “deposits”. From personal experience, I continue to make deposits into my own “personal bank account” through involvement in the 4CU. Ask yourself, how can I increase my “deposits”?

2025 Board Leadership Vote
It’s that time of year again – time to get together as a team and elect/confirm your club board for 2025. The 4CU board works together to plan activities, be fiscally responsible and keep up to date on requirements from ACI.
The nominating committee presented a slate of nominees to the board for approval before presentation to the membership for confirmation voting.
The following have been nominated to the respective positions:
- President – Barbara Engelmann
- 1st Vice President – Bruce Stevenson
- 2nd Vice President – Michael Houlden
- Treasurer – Richard Girard
- Secretary – Jeff Engelmann
- Trustee – Kathy Fahey

Voting Opens Monday, 14 October 2024, 8am MT!
Voting Closes Midnight, 23 October (Arizona Time)!
Remember! Only FULL MEMBERS of Four Corners Unit are eligible to vote, and that all members of your BRN can cast a vote!
Full members of the 4CU will be receiving a separate email with the link to the ballot.
Rally Update:
New Years Eve Rally
The Annual New Years Eve Rally will open up for registrations in early November. This annual and very popular rally will be held again at Picacho Peak State Park, in Picacho AZ. When the registration date and further rally details finalized, a save the date notice will go out. Thanks to Louis Hall and Sergio Quiros for again hosting this great rally.
Pilot Program: Rally Hosts and Co-Hosts Appreciation Policy

The 4CU Board voted to approve a pilot program for 2025 to encourage 4CU members to serve as rally hosts and co-hosts by providing partial reimbursement for camping and rally fees.
There are many rallies planned for 2025 and as stated in previous Eblasts, host and co-host are needed. We need you to volunteer so, if you are interested in hosting or co-hosting a rally, let a member of the Rally Planning and Support Committee know, and we will give you further details on the pilot program and how you can get involved.
Are you just curious what hosting entails but not ready to commit? Send us a note and we’ll chat! No purchase necessary!
The following rallies will fail unless someone (will it be you?) volunteers as host:
- 10-13 April – Bisbee Rally
- 29 May – 01 June – Flagstaff Rally
- 22-26 September – Moab Rally

Phoenix Metro Social Gathering
There is a Phoenix metro social gathering planned for 20 October 2024. Many thanks to Leon and Janet Hauck and Lee and Tammy Gatten for hosting this event. If you plan to attend, follow the link for details and to RSVP.
Albuquerque Meet and Greet

On Thursday, 12 September, 28 Airstreamers got together at El Patron in Albuquerque. It was a beautiful, late summer afternoon to gather on the shady patio for a visit and a chance to get caught up on everyone’s travel adventures. Old travel friends reconnected, and new friends were made. This was our third Albuquerque Meet and Greet and it looks like this will become an annual tradition.
Constitution and Bylaws Vote
Thank you to all the members, who took the time to vote on the updated Constitution and Bylaws; the revised documents have been approved and accepted by the membership.
