Spaghetti Western Rally Report
The 4CU Spaghetti Western Rally took place at the group campground at Dead Horse Ranch State Park in Cottonwood Arizona on 7-10 March. We want to thank the rally hosts Jan and Richard Girard, and Louis Hall and Sergio Quiros for all of the efforts associated with this rally. The hosts welcomed 23 rigs to this unique rally.
Rally Highlights
Thursday’s arrival day was greeted with a happy hour and a host-initiated chili dump dinner. This chili meal was a combination of each rig’s prepared chili that was mixed with all of the other provided chilis in a large stock pot. This super-chili was heated and served with various condiment toppings to participants. It was a delicious meal and a very creative idea.
Friday morning group coffee hour was complimented by a “mountain man” breakfast, prepared by the hosts, consisting of Dutch oven egg breakfast with tortillas. Delicious, creative, and filling were the compliments heard echoing from the hills.
Hikes, bike rides, trips into Cottonwood, Sedona, Jerome, and surrounding attractions kept everyone busy.
Friday night a competitive game of Left Right Center followed a potluck heavy-appetizer happy hour and wound down around the campfire.
Saturday morning coffee hour revved everyone up for a local campground hike lead by our hosts. This invigorating hike was approximately three miles and prepared all the participants to explore the surrounding area for the rest of the day.
The Spaghetti Western joy-bag included a western moustache as our meal ticket for the Saturday night dinner. Of course, no western moustache is complete without western wear to accent and embellish the theme revving up the atmosphere for a catered dinner.
Our members didn’t disappoint with western wear on full display by all. Our delicious, locally prepared, dinner was followed with an outdoor screening of the classic spaghetti western movie “The Good The Bad And The Ugly” – popcorn included!
Sunday, saddle-up day, brought the ringing of the chore bell calling all the cowpokes to return to their respective ranches.
The group site has been reserved for March 6-9, 2025. SAVE the DATE
