The Little Creel is a lovely full service RV Park located on the main highway through Chama. There are a total of 57 full service sites and several small rental cabins. They offer a large covered Pavilion with picnic tables and power at no charge. There is also a large enclosed Recreation Hall with full kitchen and dining area which we plan to use for one event which would include a pot luck, happy hour and/or other activities.

20 spaces are located in a circle with the pavilion in the center. Additional sites are adjacent to the circle with some on the Chama River. There are public restrooms and showers nearby. Due to the size of the pavilion and the logistics of breakfasts for everyone we would like to cap the attendance at 25 trailers.

The park has full hookups including 30 and 50 amp, water and sewer for $37.50 per night (normal cost is $42.50). Fire rings are available for evening fires. The evenings will be “chilly” in Chama in mid to late September. Hosts will provide all firewood due to restrictions on out of area firewood.

These 25 sites have been reserved for the 4CU and removed from their reservation sites until February 15 when they will be taking reservations by telephone from 4CU members until March 15.

There will be an optional Cumbres and Toltec train ride (either half day or full day rides are available - both ending between 3:30-4:30 PM). Full day rides start at $105.00 for adults and $49.75 for children. We will research group rates. Fall colors will not peak until early October but the higher elevations will be very colorful. A turkey dinner style lunch or meatloaf lunch is served in a dining hall to all train passengers - it’s all you can eat! Vegan and gluten free options are available.

We are planning a traditional New Mexico Dinner (frijoles, green chile stew and flour tortillas) Thursday night. The day of the train ride breakfast burritos and coffee will be provided early morning, and we are planning a pancake breakfast one morning. All other meals will be in the form of a potluck/heavy appetizers.

Costs are estimated to be @25.00 per trailer (or $12.50/single) to cover the Recreation Hall rental and food costs. Potential rally total cost is based on the DeAnza rally.
