Get out of the heat and head to southwest New Mexico for our second annual Chile Run. Silver City is the gateway to the Gila Wilderness, our nation's largest wilderness.

Plan on joining us Friday Aug 30 to Monday Sept 2. We have some activities planned for those interested. Just let us know if you are interested on the attached registration form. Deadline for your registration is Aug 20. This is a WBCCI rally. If you are not a member of WBCCI, but own an Airstream, and would like to attend as a Guest, please contact the hosts. Here are the plans.

If you would like to come earlier or stay longer you are welcome to do that. If some of you are here early and would like to we can put together a potluck or meet at a restaurant.

Friday night 5:30 Welcome Happy Hour at the Group Area. Bring your beverage and a snack to share.

Saturday, Spend some time exploring Silver City's fun downtown. Visit some of the galleries and have a drink at Little Toad Creek. https://littletoadcreek.com

There is also a wonderful museum downtown. For those of you with interest in military history, take a short drive to Fort Bayard and visit this historic fort and the national cemetery there. https://www.fortbayard.org

Saturday night Happy Hour at the Group Area at 5:00. Bring your beverage and a snack to share. For those who want to join us will be heading 7 miles north for dinner in PinosAltos at the Buckhorn Saloon and Opera House. The Buckhorn is quite something to see. What you eat and drink is on you but we can all sit together in one of the dining rooms with rich history and amazing artifacts on the walls. PinosAltos was a thriving metropolis in the mid 1800’s, now a small community with a fun outlaw past. www.buckhornsaloonandoperahouse.com

Sunday morning at 9:00 we head toward Glenwood to the Catwalk through one of the loveliest areas of SW New Mexico. The drive is a little less than an hour. The hike ranges from 1 to 3 hours depending on your hiking desire and time. We can talk about car pooling at happy hour on Thursday. https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/gila/recarea/?recid=2029

Sunday Night Happy Hour at 5:30 and dinner is potluck. Bring your favorite dish with chileor a dish that accompanies chilelike cornbread.

Each morning there will be coffee with donuts and fruit in the group area. Early Bird Tom Kirk will have that going by 6:30. Monday is “Happy Trails Day” but stop and have coffee and say Adios

The Rally fee is $10 per person payable when we see you in Silver City. Please make checks to 4CU Unit WBCCI. Kids under 16 are free. It doesn’t include dinner at the Buckhorn which will be separate checks
