Caballo Lake State Park is considered one of the top 10 state parks in New Mexico. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
We will be camping at the Riverside Campground group section which has pull- through sites with electricity and water. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sites are $14 which you will pay upon arrival. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
We are within a short walking distance of the Rio Grande River with such recreational activities as fishing, hiking (nearby trails), rafting, kayaking, and biking. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Twenty miles south of the park is Hatch, New Mexico, widely known as the \u201cbest chili place in the world\u201d for growing a wide variety of peppers \u2013 a New Mexican cuisine staple. Have lunch at Sparky\u2019s which is best known for their green chili cheese burgers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Venture nineteen miles north, to Truth or Consequences, a town named after the game show, where you can take a relaxing soak in one of the many hot springs, visit one of the craft breweries, or learn more of the New Mexico culture at the Geronimo Springs Museum. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Friday night, if you choose, we will have dinner at Arrey\u2019s restaurant. It’s a small, cozy restaurant so we are limited to 25 people. We’ve booked two sittings, 5 to 6:30 and 6:30 to 8pm. Choose your sitting time on the rally reg form. Their menu includes Mexican, American, and on Fridays, a 12 oz ribeye special. Please note that dinner is not included in the rally fee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is a relaxing rally so come chill in chili land at Caballo Lake State Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
