{"id":25,"date":"2023-01-10T14:39:14","date_gmt":"2023-01-10T21:39:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fourcornersunit.com\/news\/?p=25"},"modified":"2023-01-11T05:36:14","modified_gmt":"2023-01-11T12:36:14","slug":"announcing-the-4cu-news-site","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fourcornersunit.com\/news\/2023\/01\/announcing-the-4cu-news-site\/","title":{"rendered":"Announcing the 4CU News Site"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"postie-post\">Hi 4CU-ers,<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"postie-post\">We are super-excited to announce the launch of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fourcornersunit.com\/news\">Four Corners Unit News site<\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"postie-post\">Okay, maybe we are more excited than the average member, but here\u2019s what really useful about this.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"postie-post\">We use MailChimp, a bulk email marketing service, to communicate with you because most email servers react with aggressive hostility to email with many, many addressees &#8211; IE the mail doesn\u2019t get through and dissipates in the net like so many 1s and 0s.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"postie-post\">One drawback has been that every time we want to communicate with you, our members, we had to create unique email campaigns in MailChimp.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"postie-post\">Another disadvantage of using MailChimp in this way meant a lot of work to create each email to be distributed and no way to easily see\/find\/read old news or even recent or current news if you missed or misplaced the MailChimp email &#8211; like when aggressive spam filters send it to the dungeon for extreme punishment.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"postie-post\">The solution!<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"postie-post\">All news to you, the members, will now be posted and hosted at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fourcornersunit.com\/news\">www.fourcornersunit.com\/news<\/a><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"postie-post\">An auto-magic robot executive assistant \u2013 okay a wee programme at MailChimp \u2013 checks for new news every day and will send you an email with the contents of any new news posting every morning after new news has been posted. (I\u2019m not sure, can I get new news into a single sentence more times than that without incurring the wrath of my 12th Grade English teacher?)<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"postie-post\">The news stills comes to you via MailChimp and might still be languishing in your spam or junk or promotions folder(s) in your email app, but if you ever think you\u2019ve missed some news or can\u2019t find news, you can just pop over to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fourcornersunit.com\/news\">www.fourcornersunit.com\/news<\/a>&nbsp;and find it!<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"postie-post\">See?
